"Welcome to the CROSSING EUROPE Film Festival Linz 2009. 177 hand-picked feature films, documentaries and short films from 33 countries will be presented to international festival guests and the local cinema audience when the Festival takes place for the sixth time from 20 – 26 April.
Central program tracks are the European Panorama and the Panorama Special, the Competition European Cinema with 10,000 Euro in prize money (powered by Linz09), Night Sight devoted to European genre film, Specials (including films on the focal point Working Worlds and from the area of music and youth culture), as well as a selection of current Austrian filmmaking in Local Artists and Austrian Screening.
Films, festival presentations and music from Turkey, Switzerland and Norway make up the program section for EXTRA EUROPE, including the Special YOUNG TURKISH CINEMA, the Tribute (Ursula Meier and Lionel Baier, CH) and films by the Norwegian film and video artist Inger Lise Hansen, OK Artist in Residence 2009 ."
Escolha fantástica de programacao. Oportunidade para mostar fimes fora do mainstream, filmes de autor, curtas-metragens misturado com uma boa dose de conferencias e festas. Vale a pena. Mas nao, nao é melhor do que o Indie Lisboa. Diria que nos falat a aposta (real) em novos talentos (tanto dos filmes como de quem os escolhe). E vivam os festivais de cinema!
